Competition Information

Students interested in representing Daniels School of Business at the Collegiate Ethics Case Competition must meet the following requirements:

Team Formation
• Students must register as a team of two students.
• Teams should ensure both members are committed to participating fully throughout the preparation and competition process.

Application Materials
Each team must submit the following

  • A brief statement (no more than one page) that includes:
    • A summary of their case competition experience (if applicable)
    • What ethics means to them in a professional or academic context (no more than a paragraph)
    • A current resume for each team member

Commitment Expectations
Students selected to represent the Center will be required to:

  • Attend all scheduled coaching and preparation sessions
  • Participate in practice presentations and feedback sessions
  • Represent the Center professionally at all times
  • Be available for the competition dates and required preparation activities

Selection Process

If more than one team is qualified, the teams will compete in a pitch-off shortly after the deadline closes. The outcome of the pitch-off will determine which team advances to represent Daniels in the competition.

Thursday, October 15, 2026

  • 3:30 PM | Check-in & Welcome Dinner: Estes Atrium, Eller College of Management.
    • Note: Brackets and presentation times for Rounds One and Two will be announced during dinner via random selection.
  • Evening | Round One: 10-minute judge Q&A session. 

Friday, October 16, 2026

  • Morning | Round Two: 20-minute presentation followed by a 5-minute Q&A.
  • Afternoon | Lunch & Final Round: Finalist presentations (10 mins) and Q&A (5 mins). Livestreamed via YouTube.
  • Evening | Closing Reception: Winner announcement and celebration. 

Saturday, October 17, 2026 | Corporate Excursion

  • South32 Hermosa Mine Tour: Visit a next-generation, sustainable underground mine.
  • Cost: FREE (Includes transportation and lunch).
  • Note: Seating is strictly limited to 50 participants. Register early to secure your seat.
