Competition Information

Team Requirements

  • Each team must have 3-4 undergraduate students from a Big Ten school

  • Teams must be at least 50% business majors

  • Schools may send one or two teams

Competition Timeline

  • Mandatory Case Release & Best Practices Workshop
    Friday, January 30, 2026 | 3:00–4:00 PM EST (Zoom)
    At least one team member must attend.

  • One Page Executive Summary
    Monday, February 2, 2026 | 11:59 PM EST
    Submit via Pitch.

  • Rough Draft Slides Due
    Tuesday, February 3, 2026 | 11:59 PM EST
    Submit via Pitch.

  • Final Slide Deck Due
    Thursday, February 5, 2026 | 11:59 PM EST
    Submit via Pitch. No edits allowed afterward.

  • Case Competition Day
    Friday, February 6, 2026
    Presentation schedule provided after initial submissions.

Case Overview

Teams will act as consultants to develop 3–5 strategic recommendations supporting the creation of a “Silicon Valley in the Heartland,” addressing talent attraction, retention, and future regional challenges. Presentations will be evaluated by judges from top organizations in the region.

Guidelines

  • No assistance from faculty, staff, or non-team members once the case is released

  • Digital research sources are allowed

  • Slide decks must be PowerPoint, 16:9, with:

    • 15-slide limit for presentation

    • 10-slide limit for appendix

    • Team/Title slide (not counted in slide limit)

Presentation Format

  • 15-minute presentation

  • 5-minute Q&A

  • 5-minute feedback session

  • All team members must present

Final Round & Awards

  • Top two teams from each room advance to finals

  • Finalists announced 12:00–12:30 PM via Pitch

  • Final presentations at 1:30 PM

  • Awards ceremony at 3:15 PM
